Sindroma Erupsi Obat Yang Disertai Eosinofilla Dan Gejala Sistemik (Sindroma Dress)
Drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms syndrome (DRESS syndrome) or drughypersensitivity syndrome is an idiosyncratic severe adverse cutaneous drug reaction that begins acutely in the jirst two months (2-6 weeks) after initiation of drug. It's manifestations are fever, rash, absolute eosinophilia, lymphadenopathy, and involvement of internal organ. Pathagenesis of DRESS syndrome is very complex and not well understood Existing theory said that hypersensitivity reaction occurred from abnormal production and detoxification of drug's active metabolites, also by activation and reactivation of Human Herpes Virus 6 (HHV-6). The main management in DRESS syndrome is identifying and withdrawing the causative drugs and administration of long-term systemic steroid therapy.
