The Prevalence of Worm Diseases and its Correlation with Malnutrition among Elementary Students in One of IDT Area Sriamur Village, Bekasi (Hubungan Malnutrisi dan Infeksi Pecacingan pada Anak Sekolah Dasar di Daerah (IDT) Sriamur Bekasi)
This survey was conducted to obtain the prevalence of worm disease and its correlation with malnutrition among elementary students in one of IDT area Sriamur village Bekasi, West Java. The subject of this study was 216 of 458 students from the first to sixth grade of two elementary schools. From laboratory examination of feces specimens it was revealed that 137 samples (63.43 percent) contain of worm eggs. The prevalence of Ascaris lumbricoides infection is the highest (53.05 percent) followed by Trichuris trichiura (15.75 percent) and Ankylostoma (0.46 percent). Malnutrition status has been measured by using anthrophometric index (less than-2 SD score). Chi-square analysis showed that ascariasis and trichuriasis were significantly different between normal students and malnutrition there was a significant which was showed 23.14 percent.
