Status Iodium Urin Ibu Hamil Dengan Konsumsi Bahan Pangan Goitrogenik (Iodine Status And Goitrogenic Food Consumption of The Pregnant Mothers)
ABSTRACT
Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) is one of the nutrition problem in Indonesia, particularly in endemic area, Subdistrict Kejajak Wonosobo. Central Java. Research on the contribution of goitrogenic foods to IDD is still limited. The objective of this research was to identry the relationship between consumption pattern of pregnant mothers, especially intake of iodine, goitrogenic food, and the urine iodine Excretion (UlE). This study used a cross sectional design with both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data consisted of characteristics of pregnant mothers, consumption pattern, and urine iodine excretion level.
The total sample were 30 pregnant mothers come from two vilages Tambi and Sigedang respectively. UIE and Iodine level in thr salt were analized at Bala CART Borobudur Central Java. The Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) method used to called food consumption level. Data were descriptively and analytically processed using chi square test. This study showed that there was a relationship between education level and urine iodine excretion but there was no relationship among urine iodine excretion with age, pregnancy, salt, food, goitrogenic food consumption. The local health government in Wonosobo should observe Iodine Status using urine iodine Excretion (IJIE) and salt consumption, especially in the endemic area.
