Penerapan Teknologi Handphone Untuk Konseling Status Gizi Orang Dewasa (The Application of Mobile Phone Technology For Adults Nutritional Status Counceling)

ABSTRACT

Mobile-phone technology is growing rapidly so it is an opportunity to disseminate information on the nutritional status for community counseling. Experimental and qualitative research objectives are to develop and install software on the phone for nutritional counseling and interviewing respondents about the use of the software, identify about nutritional resources and the characteristics of the respondents or users. Ten respondents purposively determined has JAVA mobile-phone with the operating system and agreejoint the study. Study entry, the software installed on the respondent's mobile-phone and immediately input theirweight and height using the software, the body mass index (BMI) of respondents will immediately appear on the screen (dialog box). Then the tips would appear consistent with the respondents' BMI who describe their nutritional status.

Results showed that the characteristics of the respondents was 18-30 years, BM1 18-26, most students and said this useful software is convenient and practical and books are the resources they learn nutrition. Further study needed to develop complete and specific software that can be installed on the phone so it can meet the needs of responders and the public mom aware of their nutritional status as prevention of the occurrence of degenerative diseases associated with malnutrition.
