Efektifitas Pengolahan Limbah Cair Dengan Model Triple Seri Elektrolisis Dalam Menurunkan Kadar Fosfat di IPal RS Grhasia, Yogyakarta
ABSTRACT
The processed liquid waste from hospitals, prior to be safely discharged into water bodies, has to fulfill several requirements. One of these is phosphate concentration of the waste water must below 3 mg/l. The exceeding phosphate level, in long term can affect human health and the en¬vironment. Since it was known that the phosphate concentration at the outlet of the hospital's WWTP has not met yet the threshold, the study was aimed to determine the effectivity of Triple Serial Electrolysis Model in reducing the concentration by conducting a quasi experiment which employed one group pre test post test with control design. There were 15 replications for each study groups.
The phosphate concentration were examined in The Health Laboratory Office of Yogyakarta, and the results showed that the average of phosphate reduction yielded from the model was 2,9284 mg/l or 61,64 %, and all of the post-test examination has met the require-ment.On the other hand, in the control group, eventhough the phosphate level were also found declining in the average of 0,8304 mg/l or 14,38 %, nonetheless the post-test data were still found higher than 3 mg/I. The statistical test using independent Nest revealed that the two phosphate reductions were significantly different (p value < 0,001), and therefore it can be con¬cluded that the model used in this study is more effective in decreasing the phosphate concen¬tration.
