Work Load Analysis Nutrition Personnel Working In Food Production Unit And Wards Some Hospitals Jabodetabek
Abstract
Dietetic Technicians and Dietitians working in the hospital as important human resource components of nutrition services. Up to now, the workload of personnel working in the hospital are unmeasured even in Food Production Unit and Inpatient Nutrition Care. The objectiver of the study is to identified the workload of Dietetic Technicians (Diphloma 3 or Bachelor non Nutrition) and Dietitian (Diphloma 4 or Bachelor in Nutrition) working in Food Production Unit Inpatient Nutrition Care in four Hospitals in Jabodetabek as compared to the characteristics of respondents, job description and competencies. This is a management in food and nutrition systems research, a descriptive survey and time study. Subjects of 29 respondents (Dietetic Technicians and Dietitians) of this study were gather in data collection through observation of daily activities of respondents for 2 days. Data analysis was done by comparing the workload measured by time study with the characteristic of respondents, job description and competencies. The average workload of Dietitians working in Food Production Unit and Inpatient Nutrition Care Unit were generally under the certain rule, however the workload of Dietitians working in Food Production Unit was met the rule (appropriate).
Injob description and competencies were mostly found in Dietetic Technicians as compared to Dietitians. Inappropriate workload of Dietetic Technicians in Food Production Unit is 83,3% and in Inpatient Nutrion Care Unit is 66,7% where as Dietitians in Food Production Unit is 16,7% and in Inpatient Nutrion Care Unit is 33,3%. Duration of work and gender (women) of the respondents were higher than mean value. The Dietetic Technicians were mostly innapproriate in job description, competencies and workload. In general, there was no tedency ofrelationship between characteristics ofthe respondents with workload. This study suggested thatjob description should individually specific for each individual, refered to the competencies to meet the workload. It is needed to differentiate between daily job description and certain periode of time and job description speccally for Dietetic Technician and Dietetics. Furthure research about working peiformance and competencies Dietitians is needed.
