Current Practice: Postpartum Discharge Planning in Semarang City

Postpartum mother need to be prepared physically; psychologycally and socially before discharge from health services PPDP (postpartum discharge planing). Based on literatur there is not any research about current practice on PPDP in Semarang City. This research was done in Semarang.. City. Population were post partum mothers. Sampling technic was used accidental sampling, which is mother who still in pospartum period whithin 4 weeks in Ngaliyan Public Health rRegion. The Sampel was 36 pospartum mothers. The postpartum mothers then gave questionair. Questionair contains mother characheristics which were age, education, and parity and also question about PPDP. Other sample was midwife, there were 27 miswife as samples. The data collecting using questionair and the result then analised using descriptif. The result of study showed that PPDP practice based on postpartum mother there were some are that low in practice which were health education related complication on mother or baby that should be aware by mother or family, but based on midwives that they had gave care related PPDP by well in general and many area related PPDP. Care giver need to give attention on PDP priciple when giving care ro postpartum mother before discharge. There was gap between practice PPDP basd on clients and midwive. Care giver should pay attention clients concern related to PPDP area that clinets or postpartum mothers felt less because that area very important to know how early detection and prevention if there were any problems during pospartum period.
