Evaluasi Model Penyuluhan dalam Peningkatan Pengetahuan, Sikap dan Pratek Mengenai Sindrome Terowongan Karpal pada Pekerja beberapa Perusahaan Garmen di Jakarta, Tahun 2004
In Carpal tuned syndrome (CTS) is a disorder caused of medianus nerve entrapment in carpal tunnel in the wrist and give many symptoms as pain membness, and hyperesthesia at nerve madianus area. CTS is related to repetitive biomechanial movement in hand at wark. The scope of this study was development of an educational model to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome among workers at several garment factories in Jakarta. The objectives were to identify effects and the best model of 4 intervention models to increasde knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) on CTS and repettive biomechanical movement in hand and wrist. The study was a quasi-experimental study, conducted at garment factories in Jakarta 2004. The education models were direct education with educational book model, direct education without book model, educational book only model, and control model. Result of thestudy toward 498 workers who net inclusion and exclusion criteria showed that KAP of intervention groups increased siignificantly after intervention (p=0,0001), but in control group only knowledge increase significantly (p=0.04) The direct education without book model was the best model was the best model for increasing the knowledge and practice on repetitive biomechanical movement in hand and wrist. (p=0.0001). The direct education models with and without book were better for increasing the attitude on repetitive movement in had and wrist (p+0.0001)
