Clinical Anatomy and the Development of Medical Technology (Anatomi Klinik Perkembangan Teknologi Kedokteran)
In early years of its development, anatomisis usually payed their attention to descriptive anatomy where topography, form and structure of organs are their main concern. These can be studied by dissection of dead human body. Since doctors had to face living being, anatomists later moved their attention to the functional aspect of organ and system. This studies later developed to be functional anatomy. But clinicians are mostly dealing with sick persons which need information on how to distinguish normal healthy organs systems to those of malfunctioned. In response to this need, anatomists later develop clinical anatomy which takes benefit of modern or advance technology. They took benefit of X-ray, in form of conventional X-ray readiography to the more modern ones such as CT-Scan and Dynamic Spatial Reconstructor (DSR). They adopt ultrasound in USG and magnetic resouance in MRI. None of these latest technology were studied properly by anatomists. In the full paper I try to depict a concise information of those technology and suggest the anatomical society should pay more attention in the future.
