Daun Serei dan Kunyit Jeruk sebagai Repellent Nyamuk Aedes Aegypty
The high prevalence of dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) merely that the population of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes remains high and increasing. One method of overcoming mosquito problem is by the use of mosquito repellents that are save for human skin. Yhis was an experimental study aimed at descripbing alternative repellent that is more effective and efficient, that is by the use of orange skin and aquadest mixture. The experimental method went through four stages, sampling, preparation of aquadest, development of mosquito colony, and repellent test. The variables observed were Aedes agypty mosquitoes resting on prepared baits and the varying dose of orange skin and aquadest (serel leaves) mixture. Data were analyzed by oneway Anova. Results of observation showed that there was a difference in repellents against aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The best repelling action was represented by a combination of destillates mode from orange skin and serel leave distillate have produced a poor synergy unless they are mixed in equal dose.
