Kadar Peroksida Lipid dan Aktivitas Superoksida Dismutase (SOD) Testis Tikus yang Diberi Tepung Kedelai Kaya Isoflavon, Seng (Zn) dan Vitamin E (The Effects of Isoflavone Rich-Soybean Flour, zinc (Zn) and Vitamin E on Lipid Peroxide Level and Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) Activity of Rat Testis)
Isoflavon as the active compound in soybean can improve of antioxidant status. Zn is needed to stimulate antioxidant enzymes activities, while vitamin E acts as chain breaking antioxidant that prevent chain reaction of free radicals. Material that use in this research were isoflavone rich-soybean flour (TKI), zinc sulfate (ZnS04•7H,O), and vitamin E (α-tokoferol asetat), while the data were tested by analysis of variance using completely randomized design (FAL) to evaluate the effects of the thretments on MDA level and SOD activity. The results indicated that oral administration of isoflavone rich-soybean flour (3 mg/day), Zn (6.14 mg/kg of ration) and vitamin E (100 mg/kg of ration) during 2 months decreases level of MDA testis (1.9 nmol/g) and recovers SOD activity of rat testis (259.2 U/mL). It was concluded that synergic interaction between isoflavone rich-soybean flour, Zn and vitamin E can prevent formation of lipid peroxide in spermatozoa and improve SOD activity of rat testis.
