Design/Data identification : Retrospective, descriptive study from November 1993 until October 1994. Setting : Division of Neuroendocrinology, Integrated Reproductive Immunoendocrinology Makmal, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, Jakarta. Subjects : patients, participants : Patients reffered by neurologists with complaints of both neuroendocrinological and psychiatric disorders. Results : 5 patients with head pain, 5 patients with epilepsy (Catamenia), 6 patients with psychosis, 5 patients with psychoneurosis and behavioral disorder, 6 hyperactive patients with altered behavior. All the patients FSH, LH, E2 prolactin hormones were examined, and the testosterone (T) was also examined in some of them. It was found that almost all the patients had hormonal changes. Treatment with progesterone, clomiphene citrate and bromokriptin was done. Treatment with testosterone was not conducted. Conclusion: Certain psychiatric and neuroendocrinological disorders can be caused by high level of estrogen, prolactin disproportion between FSH and LH. The administration of progesterone as antiestrogen the lowering of prolactin level and the balancing of proportion between FSH and LH are the management in dealing with the patients with emotional and behavioral disorder. Although the patient had low T level, the treatment does not involve testosterone substitute (T), but the administration of clomiphene citrate.
