The Effication of Bacillus thuringiensis H-14 (Vectrobac 12AS) against Anophelles Larvae at Teluk Dalam District, Nias Sub District, North Sumatera (Efikasi Bacillus Thuringiensis H-14 (Vectrobac 12AS) terhadap Jentik Anopheles di Kecamatan Teluk Dalam, Kabupaten Nias Sumatera Utara)

Bacillus thuringiensis H-14 was tested as follows : Laboratory trials revealed a LC50 at 3.2027 ppm and 1.4998 ppm and LC90 at 12.2521 ppm and 7.3356 ppm at exposures of respectively 24 and 48 hours. Small scale trials in ricefield plots in Hilisimaetano village showed a reduction rate of respectively 85.54 percent-89.54 percent, 88.36 percent-94.61 percent and 88.61 percent-94.55 percent at dosages of 2 ppm, 5 ppm and 10 ppm, at observations of 1 day, 2 days and 4 days after application. After 7 days the reducation rate ranged between 31.04 percent-39.13 percent in all dosages investigated. The operational trial spraying at a dosage of 3 ppm at weekly intervals, showed a reduction rate of 80.95 percent-100 percent in Teluk Dalam Vilage and 85.71 percent-100 in Lagundri Village. Seven days after spraying larvae were found again but in realtively low numbers. A second operational trial is proposed using community participation.
