The Influence of Mercury Chloride on the Development of Nervous System on the Chick (Gallus-gallus L. Var Decalb) [Pengaruh Pemberian Merkuri Klorida (HgCl2) terhadap Perkembangan Sistem Saraf (Otak) Ayam Ras/Gallus-gallus L. Var. Decalb]
The influence of mercury chloride (HgCb) on development of nervous system (fore brain) of the chick (Gallus-gallus L. Var. Decalb) was carried out at Embriology Laboratory. Biology Department of Mathematics and Nature Science Faculty. Andalas University, Padang. Experiment method and Completely Randomized Design (CDR) with 10 replications were used. The treatment were 0.0 mg (K), 0.1 mg (1), 0.01 mg (II), 0.001 mg (III) mercury chloride per embryo, which were given to one day old embryos. The results show that mercury cloride caused some changes in structure of cerebral cortex, absence migrating cells at molecular layer, thinner molecular layer, but the number of nerve cells per area in pyramidal, and granular layer are quite similar.
