Psychological Aspects on Child with Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (Aspek Psikologis Anak dengan Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus)
Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus is a kind of D.M which requires a multitude of psychosocial adjustments without which are necessary to enable the patients and family to follow the necessary rules in daily life in order to maintain adequate metabolic control. In this study 10 IDDM patients had been interviewed about their psychological problem that they encountered. The result showed: 8 (80 percent) of the patients had difficulties in following food regimen prescribed, 3 (30 percent) patients refused to do insulin injection regularly, 6 (60 percent) patients did not have blood glucose control regularly, 6 (60 percent) patients showed feeling of envy toward their sibling/friends, 2 (20 percent) patients were worrying about their future, 2 (20 percent) patients showed depressive reaction, 8 (80 percent) their worried about the patients and become over protective toward them. In managing IDDM one should be concerned about the its possible psychological problems which needs an adequate interventions.
