GCL-MS Analysis on Volatile Oil of Rhizome of Curcuma heyneana Val van Zyp (Analisis GLC-MS Minyak Atsiri Rimpang Curcuma heyneana Val van ZYP)

Rhizome of Curcuma heyneana Val
van Zyp is much used in traditional medicine and cosmetics. In this work GLC-MS analysis of volatile oil isolated from rhizome was conducted continuing the work performed before. The isolated volatile oil was fractionized in chromatographic colum of biocil a using sequentially hexane, methylene chloride, chloroform than methanol as eluents. The hexane and methylene chloride fractions were analyzed with GLC-MS. From the hexane fractions 6 compounds which had not been reported before were identified as Beta-terpinene, gamma-terpinene, guaiazulene, alpha-copaene and gamma-elemene. From the methylene chloride fraction 2 components were identified as 2-undecanone and carvone.
