The Comparative Study of Asthma Bronchial on Patient with Regularly and Irregularly Treatment at Asthma Polyclinic in Persahabatan Hospital (Studi Banding Perkembangan Penyakit Asma Bronkial pada Penderita yang Kontrol Teratur dengan Tidak Kontrol secara Teratur di Poliklinik Asma Rumah Sakit Persahabatan)

A restrospective study has been conducted since January 1994 for three years at the Pulmonary Department Faculty of Medicine Indonesia University/Pulmonary Unit of Persahabatan Hospital Jakarta. This study was conducted to identify factors which is causing the sufferer/patient does not get treatment at asthma polyclinic of Persahabatan Hospital Jakarta. Besides that we have also compared the change of peak flow rate (PFR) from the beginning the suferer is being treated until this study was conducted between group having reguler treatment of that of irregular treatment and identifyng bronchodilator respons during the sufferer did not bring themselves for examination on Persahabatan hospital. From the number of patients who had been diagnosed bronchial asthma consist of 30 patient status got regular treatment and 30 patients status got irregular treatment. Demographic status between both groups were not very different so that they are comparable. The main reason most sufferers not to get regular treatment were the expensive prescription and medical examination namely, 13 sufferers (45 percent), treatment hour incided with working hour amoungting to 7 sufferers (23.4 percent), using stall medicine were 4 sufferers recovered (13.4 percent), susceptible to side effect were 3 sufferers (10 percent) imposible to recover was one sufferer (3.4 percent) PFR sufferers with regular treatment were less than those of irregular treatment, the difference was 85.07 1/minute. The reversibility of respiratory tract with irregular treatment were less than 15 percent namely 9.74 percent.
