Evaluate the Dengue Haemorrhagic Control Programme in West Jakarta and its Alternative Programme (Evaluasi Program Pemberantasan Demam Berdarah di Jakarta Barat dan Alternatif Perbaikannya)
The purpose of this study is to evaluate dengue haemorhagic control programme which has been applied since 1982 and to find the alternative programme which can be use as an early warning system for DHF outbreak. The result shows that the insidence rate of dengue haemorrhagic fever are still very high and worst number of villages affected are also increase and in 1990 these is dengue outbreak in West Jakarta just two years after extensive dengue outbreak in Jakarta in 1988. Based on DHF control programme past experiences, technical problem and short of budget in implementing new DHF control programme which still based on reactive surveilance, it is worthwhile to apply DHF control programme base on laboratory (active surveillance) which consists of virolog surveillance, fever surveillance, cases (hospitalized and fatal cases surveillance and followed by vector eradication actives. Another study must be done to prove the effectivity and the efficiency of the new method.
