The Differences of some Maternal Factors According to Newborn Weight (Perbedaan beberapa Faktor Ibu menurut Berat Badan Bayi Lahir)

The prevalence of IMR (Infant Motality Rate) in Indonesia is still high. One of the cause is Low Birth Weight Baby. The study conducted in Kecamatan Limbangan, Kabupaten Kendal in which 'KASIH' card is still on trial. Two hundred and fifty women having a 'KASIH' cards (Road to Health Card for Pregnant Mother) and had delivered their babies were studies purposively. Various factors were selected to determine pregnant womens medical history and practice which may lead to having low birth weight baby. The results show that there was no significant difference between mother with low birth weight baby and mother with normal birth weight baby concerning age, education, weight and height at the beginning of antenatal care. Mothers with had early antenatal care tend to have a normal birth weight. The study also proved that was no significant diferences about the number of previous delivery between mother with low birth weight baby and mother with normal birth weight baby.
