Histological Pattern of the Rabbit Thymus Gland after 1.5 Mg Intra Musculer Prostaglandin Injection (Gambaran Histologi Kelenjar Timus Kelinci setelah Suntikan Prostaglandin (PGF 2a) 1,5 Mg Intra Muskuler)

The aim this study is to determine body reaction after prostaglandin administration to the rabbit especialy reaction of thymus gland. Twenty adult female rabbits were devided randomly into two groups. The first group treated with prostaglandin 1.5 mg i.m. and the second group as control. All rabbits observed one week for adaptation. After observation the experiment rabits treated with prostaglandin 1.5 mg. One week after treatment all rabbits were killed, the thymus gland fixated with Bouin solution for 3 hours and after wards fixated with 10 percent formalin solution for 20 hours. Than the thymus gland processed by microtechnic procedure and the paraffine method, and hematoxyline eosine staining. At the end of the procedure all the thymus gland preparation/slide examined by light microscope, and the results of two groups compared. There was a proliferation or mitotic process of some lymphocyte cells or some of lymphocyte cells after injection with prostaglandin. But there were no proliferation of the lymphocyte cells in the control group.
