Child Abuse and Neglect (Pencederaan dan Pengabaian Anak)

Child abuse is any act of omission or commission by the child's parents or other caretakers that is detrimental to the child's physical and/or emotional health and development. In general it includes physical and emotional abuse, gross neglect and sexual exploitation. Child abuse is a problem we are going to the face increasingly because of heightened awareness and the stresses in our society. Physicians must be able to recognize abused children and confirm the diagnosis. Physicians have three main responsibilities toward abused children : detection, reporting, and prevention.
