The Effect of Annona squamosa L Seed from Ethanol Extract on the Contraction of the White Mice (Uji Efek Biji Srikaya (Annona squamosa L) terhadap Kontraksi Uterus Tikus Putih secara In Vitro)

A farmacologic test was conducted in order to evaluate the effect of Annona squamosa L seed from ethanol extract on the contraction of white mice which has been pregnant uterine once, was injected with the etanol extract of Annona squamosa L seed. The seed extract was fractionated with both petroleum and chloroform. For comparison and antagonist syntocinon solution and depo prevera was used. The results show that the fraction of chloform and ethanol extract caused the contraction of the mice uterus. The contraction can be prevented by depo provera that was given previously. After statistical test, it was known that the effect of 3.1 mg/50 mg chroroform fraction and the remainder fraction were equaly with injection of syntocinon solution 0.02/IU/50 ml (alpha=0.05).
