Research of Thiocynate Status with Yodat Acid Paper Test in Ciberem Village, Subang, Central Java (Penelitian Status Tiosianat dengan Uji Kertas Amilum-Asam Iodat pada Penduduk Desa Ciberem, Kecamatan Subang, Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah)
A study was conducted to determine thiocyanate status in 286 respondents from Ciberem village, Sumbang sub district, Banyumas regency, Central Java. The study used - yodat acid paper test. The presence of thiocyanate will change the paper with blue color. The saliva gland transfers thiocynate from blood to saliva. The blue color change in paper test when given saliva inductes the presence of thiocynate. The more blue the color is, the highes thiocyanate contents in saliva, and consequently in plasma. From all respondents, 147 was positive (51.40 percent), 71 was inconclusive, and 68 was negative (23.78 percent). There was a significant associate between smoking and positive test result. The associate between cassava consumption and positive result was not significant.
