Survival Analysis on a Clinical Trial : Non-Parametric Approach
Many clinical trials have been designed to test the distribution of survival times between treatment and control groups. The development of statistical methods addressed to this issue has been proposed more than two decades ago. For example, the most populair of survival analysis is an extension of Mantel and Haenzel's statistic which is originally proposed in 1959. More complicated multi-variable technique was introduced by Cox in 1972 which is later known as a Cox regression. In Indonesia, however the use of a survival analysis is still a very limited and sometimes are not properly done. This paper describes the use of a survival analysis and it's interpretation clinical trials to avoid misused and it's incorrect interpretation. The technique described is limited to a non- parametric approach which is commonly used by clinicians.
