The fulfillment of client rights on family planning (FP) health care is a major concen to improve qualified health care by fulfilling client rights such as: health information and health care access, contraceptives selection for contraceptives, safety, privacy, and referral health care. This study aims to identify perception of FP acceptors towards their rights’ fulfillment on health care at ealth centres.
It was a descriptive study. There were 80 respondents of FP acceptors at 8 health centres in 4 districts/cities in East and West Java Provinces.
Overall, perceptions of FP acceptors towards quality of FP health care were 55% for rights to get health information, 60% for easy to access health care, 47.5% for information access to select appropriate contraceptives, 72.5%, to get safe health care, 67.5%, for acceptor privacies, 66.3%, treated respectfully and friendly, 48.8%. for access to get referral health care.
From perceptions of FP acceptors, the quality of FP health care was still low. 8.8% respondents said ”did not get” health care and 20.0% stated ”rare” to get 7 rights FP acceptors in health centers. The health staffs understanding on providing clear health information to the FP acceptors was still low. Therefore, health staffs should implement articles 56 and 57 decree RI No. 36 year 2009 regarding Health.
Health workers especially midwives provide primary health care and family planning clinics need to equip themselves with knowledge and understanding increase patients’ rights 7 (acceptor KB).
