Teknik Focus Group Discussion dalam Penelitian Kualitatif (Focus Group Discussion Tehnique in Qualitative Research)

Focus Group Discussion (FGD) technique is often used by decision makers or researchers in qualitative research to explore data about the perceptions, opinions, beliefs, and attitudes towards a product, service, concept or idea. This kind of technique relatively easier and faster completion than another qualitative data collection techniques. Unfortunately, many focus group discussion were not conduct in accordance with the rules. Consequently can not achieved
the perfect result. This paper is intended to refresh the memories of the researches in the FGD rules that need to be taken to ensure that the results of FGD can be maximized to the purpose of the study. It is based on study of the literature search.

The weakness of this technique is not used for quantitative purposes-such as hypothesis
testing, can not be used in the discussion of a topic that is very sensitive. Moreover sometimes researcher difficult to control participants when discussion took place, the results and conclusions of the discussion is influenced by the views and approaches of the moderator.
