Determinan Pemanfaatan Jaminan Persalinan di Kabupaten Pandeglang

Utilization of health insurance for delivery service and antenatal care in the
health workers is still low. This study aimed to identify determinants of delivery insurace (Jampersal) utilization in Pandeglang. This cross-sectional study was conducted in April 2012. Subject consisted of 250 pregnant women or during postnatal period which is randomly selected from 10 health centers in Pandeglang.

The logistic regression was used for the analysis. Out of 250 pregnant women or during postnatal period who came to the health services, 83.6% utilize delivery insurance. Compared with mothers who had poor knowledge, mothers who had good knowledge 2.69-fold to utilize delivery insurance (OR = 2.69, 95% CI = 1.28-5.66). In addition, compared to mothers who had 2 or less children, mothers who had 3 or more children had a 3.42-fold to utilize delivery insurance (OR = 3.42, 95% CI = 1.35-8.63).Mother’s knowledge can improve delivery insurance utilization in Pandeglang. Therefore, mothers and community should be more informed about delivery insurance (Jampersal).
