Faktor Risiko Filariasis di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi
Jambi Province is one of the endemic areas of filariasis. Chronic filariasis cases found in almost all the districts. The number of reported chronic filariasis cases in Jambi in 2011 as many as 343 cases.
The cases spread over 9 of 11 districts. The chronic cases mostly were found in Muaro Jambi (149 cases) which spread in almost all sub-districts, in 4 sub-districts in 7 public health center. Number of cases found in the Muaro Kumpeh public health center were 45 cases. Mass treatment had been implemented since 2003, but new cases still could be found. Base on the situation, the research was aimed to identify the risk factors for filariasis transmission. The study design was cross-sectional through interviews with 412 respondents including 128 cases and 248 healthly.
The results shows that the determinant of the risk factors in the incidence of filariasis in Muaro Jambi Regency was water bodies around the house, the travel time to health facilities, mosquito bite prevention behaviors at home, length of stay, education level and gender. The probability of a person with all the risk factors of 95.9% for filariasis infection with OR 23.5 times.
