Respon Imun terhadap Infeksi Parasit Malaria
Malaria is found scattered throughout the islands, especially in eastern Indonesia. Each year about 2.5 million people died, mostly children under five years old. Recently, malaria remains a cause of death of infants, toddlers and pregnant women. It also decreases productivity of infected person and tend to increase over the year.
The plasmodium infection causes immune response of host which can be seen as the presence of inflammatory immune protection may occur in malaria. There are two types of immune response against malaria parasites, innate immunity and acquired immunity. Acquired immunity occurs actively through host defense against infection;and passively from mothers to the baby. The immune response mechanism activate the ability immune complements to suppress the ocurence of clinical symptoms and parasitemia
