Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Etanol Kulit Manggis (Garcinia Mangostana L) terhadap Perubahan Makroskopik Hati Mencit Jantan (Mus Musculus L) Strain DDW setelah Diberi Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
Mangosteen peel extract is now widely used as an alternative treatment by society as an anti-oxidant without knowing the side effects. Consumption Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is used as a flavor enhancer in the food can cause various side effects due to formation of free radicals in the body such as liver dysfunction.
This study was aimed to investigate the Ethanol Extract Skin Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L) against the changes Macroscopic Changes in Male Mice (Mus musculus L) strains DDW after being Monosodium Glutamate (MSG).
The research method using true experimental designs aimed at comparing the effect of ethanol extract of mangosteen peel on liver damage caused by MSG administration. From 15 of mice, DDW strain male mice, divides into three treatment groups, namely control group / distilled water (P0), MSG giving group (P2), the giving of MSG and EEKM(P3). Macroscopic assessment of mice after giving EEKM liver did not show any significant differences in fixing the damage of liver from MSG giving (p> 0,05). Macroscopic liver in mice that had been damaged by giving MSG can be fixed with ethanol extract of mangosteen peel.
