Gambaran Pemberian Asi Ekslusif Berdasarkan Tingikat Pengetahuan dan Pekerjaan
ABSTRACT.
According to UNICE, exclusive breastfeeding can reduce infant mortality rate where is that one of the important indicators to determine the level of public health. Achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia on 2011 just 61.5% and 50.2% in the province of Bali. Puskesmas Susut 1 shows numbers not greater; which is only 31.73% with a target of 70%. The low achievement of exclusive breastfeeding is caused by various factors, such as maternal knowledge and maternal employment status. This study crimes to determine differences in exclusive breastfeeding based on the degree mother's knowledge ofbreastfeeding and maternal employment status. Type of this research is an observational whit cross-sectional design. Sampling was conducted with a purposive technique to obtain the 96 mothers of infants aged 6 months in Puskesmas Susut I.
This research conducted was in October-December 2013. The instrument used was a questionnaire and the data were analyzed using descriptive analyzis with chi square test. The result of this study shows that there is no difference of exclusive breastfeeding by mothefl knowledge of breastfeeding and maternal employment status. Another factor that can affect exclusive breastfeeding are socio-cultural factors and maternal psychological factors. The conclusion is no difference in exclusive breastfeeding by mother knowledge of breastfeeding and maternal employment status.
