Pengaruh Serbuk Daun Kelor Lokal Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Pada Tikus Kurang Gizi (Evaluasi Berat Badan dan Kadar Albumin Serum)
ABSTRACT:
Problems Protein Energy Malnutrition (PEM) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is still quite high prevalence. Moringa leaf powder (Moringa oleifera) Local West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is an alternative to nutrient-rich plants. This study aims to determine differences in body weight and feed intake in malnourished rats with different treatment groups. Laboratory experimental research methods in vivo,post-test randomized control group design.
Twentyrats were divided into five groups according to treatment were treated for 56 days (P-0 = normal diet. P-1 = a diet low in protein, P-2 = low-protein diet, a dose of moringa leaf powder +I (0.18 g / days), P-3 = low protein diet + II dose of moringa leaf powder (0.36 g / day),P4 = low protein diet + III dose of moringa leaf powder (0.72 g / day). Designing design mouse models Less protein energy with low-protein diet was given for 56 days (until the body weight of rats showed a decrease of 20% of the initial body weight) with a composition of 5.6% protein content and carbohydrate content of 67.8%. Data from animal models of the design were analyzed descriptively. Data results of weight and amount of consumption of processed with One Way ANOVA test.
Research proves granting low-protein diet may show signs of malnutrition such as decreased body weight, poor physical condition and physical appearance such as hair fall out easily, dull and lousy, giving different doses of Moringa leaf powder can improve bada weight and increase serum albumin levels towards normal mice.
Conclusions: providing low-protein diet can be used to design a rat model of protein Energy Malnutrition. NTI3 Local Moringa leaf powder can increase body weight and serum albumin levels leads to normal mice.
