ABSTRACT
The improvement of life expectancy has increased old-age population in the world. This condition will increase the problems among elderly among others is cognitive decline. One of the risk factors tor cognitive cedne Is social engagement that can be influenced by living environment.This research was done withcross sectional metnod in kelurahan Jelambar and Jelarnbar Baru on 286 respondents living in family and institution. Social disengagement was associated with lower cognitive function The most important components of social engagement are to become a member of social/community society and to cc active in the community.
