Gangguan Identifikasi Jenis Kelamin (Gender Identification Disorders)
ABSTRACT
Gender identification disorders (GID) is a disorder characterized by a strong preference to live as individuals with opposite gender from their anatomical sex. Gender Identification Disorders is also known as transexualism, usually started in childhood and its manifestation begins in early adolescense, as a desire to dress and behave like the opposite sex. This behaviour is not only for sexual satisfaction but also for self identification. The prevalence is higher among male. GID is one of the most controversial and complex diagnoses in DSM-IV viewed in social and ethical terms.
