ABSTRACT

Diabetic complications were the leading cause of death in diabetic patients. Advanced glycation end product (AGE) holds an important role in thE development of diabetic complications. AGE formed by nonenzymatic glycation process of protein, lipid and also nucleic acid. Food intake contro and drug use are important to control AGE level in diabetic patient. Nevertheless, those methods still have a lot of difficulties. Usage of antibody to inhibit AGE formation is a new approach which is potentially promising in the future. This review will describe the potency and mechanism of some of these antibodies in preventing diabetes complications. Makhyan Jibril Al-Farabi.
