Patofisiologi dan Tata Laksana Remodeling Kardiak (Pathophysiology and Management of Cadiac Remodeling)
ABSTRACT
Cardiac remodeling is commonly defined as a physiological or pathological state that may occur after myocardial infarction, pressure overload, volume overload, or idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy, which involves genetic, molecular and cellular changes in cardiomyocytes and the interstitium. Underlying mechanisms include myocardial stretch, neurohormonal, and cytokine activation. ACE inhibitor, beta blocker, calcium channel blocker, angiotensin receptor blocker, and aldosterone antagonism have proven to be effective in modulating the process of remodeling. This review examines the pathophysiology and treatment of cardiac remodeling.
Key words: cardiac remodeling, cardiac fibrosis, cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, heart failure
