Memaharni Dispareunia (Understanding Dyspareunia)
ABSTRACT
Dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse) is a recurrent or persistent acute pain associated with attempted or complete vaginal entry and/or penile vaginal intercourse. Prevalence in the community is between 0,4-61%. In general gynecological practice, the prevalence is up to 15%.The objective ofthis review isto provide a review of literature and to review current data or issue regarding state-of-the-art comprehensive assessment and management of dyspareunia. The methods used was databases (Pubmed, Medline and Embase) searching as well as bibliographies for information on management of dyspareunia. Some recent publications and guidelines (Pubmed, Medline and Embase) are discussed. The result showed that there are many potential etiologies and pathophysiologies of dyspareunia. No single treatment is successful in all women with dyspareunia. A comprehensive and thorough management of dyspareunia, are discussed. In conclusion, dyspareunia significantly affects the quality of women's life. Management of dyspareunia includes a comprehensive, systematic, and multidisciplinary approach. Research is being undertaken internationally to develop evidence-based methods of treatment.
