Penyakit Tiroid pada Kehamilan (Thyroid Diseases in Pregnancy)
ABSTRACT
Thyroid disease is common in reproductive age including in pregnancy. Abnormal thyroid hormone level, either too low or too high, can lead to bad outcomes in pregnancy. Hypothyroidism must be corrected, considerably before the pregnancy, with supplementation and also high intake of rich-iodine foods as it is the most common cause of neurologic deficit. Hyperthyroidism in pregnancy can lead serious obstetric complications such as preeclampsia, heart failure of the mother, preterm delivery and stillbirth. Hyperthyroid in pregnancy usually gives non¬specific symptom, and treatment must consider possible teratogenic effects.
