Gagal Jantung pada Masa Kehamilan sebagai Konsekuensi Kardiomiopati Peripartum (Heart Failure in Pregnancy as a Consequence of Peripartum Cardiomyopathy)
ABSTRACT:
Peripartum cardiomyopathy is a form of dilated cardiomyopathy that usually happens from the last month of pregnancy until 5 months after delivery. Patients with peripartum dilated cardiomyopathy will experience symptoms and signs of chronic heart failure such as decreased excersise tolerance, tachypnea, palpitation, tachycardia, narrow pulse pressure and fatigue. Peripartum cardiomyopathy is a diagnosis of exclusion. Examinations used to support the diagnosis are electrocardiography, echocardiogra phyand blood studies. Management of peripartum cardiomyopathy with both acute and chronic heart failure includes non-pharmacologic intervention (heart transplantation and mechanical devices) and pharmacological approaches. The heart size will return to baseline in about 50-60% women with peripartum cardiomyopathy and will recover within 6 months after delivery and continues 2-3 years afterward.
