Penggunaan Lumbrokinase sebagai Fibrinolitik dan antitrombotik Oral (Lumbrokinase as Oral Fibrinolytic and Antithrombotic)
ABSTRACT:
Lumbrokinase is a group of serine protease enzymes that is extracted from alimentary tract of the earthworm. Lumbrokinase has been shpwn to have fibrinolytic and antithrombotic activities due to its ability to hydrolyze fibrin and fibrinogen, and to activate plasminogen to become plasmin. It is different from other fibrinolytic agents; lumbrokinase is an oral fibrinolytic easily absorbed from intestinal epithelium. Its molecular weight is less than 100 kDa. Many studies of lumbrokinase on animals and human have proven that it could reduce thrombosis events. Its effects can be seen after only several days of treatment, therefore lumbrokinase might be useful for secondary prevention of diseases caused by thrombosis. More studies of lumbrokinase should be done to find the dosage of lumbrokinase, side effects after longterm use and interactions with other drugs.
