Perbandingan Terapi Keratosis Seboroik Wajah dengan Teknik Split-face antara Laser Karbon Dioksida dengan Elektrodesikasi (Comparison on Laser CO2 and Electrodessication Therapy with Split face Techinique for Facial Seborrhoic Keratosis)
ABSTRACT:
Seborrheic keratosis is the most common benign epidermal tumor. Destruction with cryotherapy, electrodesiccation, curettage, or laser ablation (carbon dioxide or erbium:YAG) are effective. We performed a split-face comparison of carbon dioxide laser versus electrodesiccation for the treatment of facial seborrheic keratoses. This is a case report of a 61-year-old woman presented with itchy brown papules on her face and neck since 10 years ago. Lesions were all cleared using both modalities. Minor side effects of postoperative pain, pruritus, and heat are more perceptible on the laser treated side. Observed side effects of atrophic scars and hyperpigmented macules are more prominent on the laser treated area. Patient rated carbon dioxide laser as more painful than electrodesiccation and preferred electrodesiccation. Treatment of atrophic scars and hyperpigmented macules is patient education and topical retinoic acid 0.025%, glycolic acid 8%, azelaic acid 20%, and SPF 30 sunscreen lotion.
