3. Penggunaan Transient Elastography untuk Staging dan Grading pada Pasien NAFLD (The role of transient elastography in staging and grading of NALFD patients)
ABSTRACT:
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is escalating in frequency and also proportion. The incidence of NAFLD and its complications such as liver fibrosis and cirrhosis is increasing, caused by lifestyle shift towards high calorie intake but low physical activity. Liver biopsy as the gold stanĀ¬dard for diagnosis was seldom used because of reluctance for invasive procedure. Transient elastography (TE) is a new non-invasive tehnique that could be used to diagnose fibrosis and cirrhosis in NAFLD patients with a fairly good diagnostic accuracy. TE is still the best non invasive method to be used in detecting fibrosis and cirrhosis in NAFLD patients.
