Pengaruh Pati Sukun (Artocarpus Altilis (Park.) Fosberg.) Terpregelatinasi Fosfat Sebagai Matriks Terhadap Disolusi Tablet Lepas Lambat Teofilin {Effect of Starch Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis (Park.) Fosberg.) Pregelatinized Phosphate as a Matrix of Slow-Release Theophylline Tablet Dissolution}
ABSTRACT
Starch is one of excipents ingredient which can be modified by phosphotylation. Starch modified with pregelatinizing and phosphotylation can be used as the matrix material in the slow-release tablet dosage form. This study aims at determining the effect of pregelatinized breadfruit starch phosphate as a matrix on the rate of dissolution in a slow-release preparations. This study begun by isolating the breadfruit starch subsequently modified in a way pregelatination followed by phosphorylation by adding phosphate groups on pregelatinized starch. The starch used as the matrix material in controlled release theophylline tablets. Slow-release tablets was evaluated by dissolution testing conducted separately in 0.1 N HCI solution (pH 1.8) and in phosphate buffer (pH 7.5) using the paddle method for 8 hours which will give the results of dissolution profiles of theophylline tablets.
Theresults of dissolution rate of pregelatinized phosphorilated starch of theophylline tablets obtained using the difference any Fl, F2 and F3 profile. One-way ANOVA test of the dissolution rate results indicate a significant difference, then followed by Tukey HSD test indicating a significant difference of the three formulas. The conclusion from this study indicate that the starch is modified with pregelatinized followed by phosphorylation, can lower dissolution rate of theophylline slow-release tablet dosage.
