Abstract
Introduction: Doctors, who deal with patients and who formulate health policies, are required to have an ability called cultural competence. Until now there has not been charged cultural compe¬tence learning model that could be a reference medical education program in Indonesia. There¬fore Empathy and Bioethics for Professional and Personal Development in Humanities Context Module charged socio-cultural aspects conducted in the academic year 2011-2012 in the faculty of medicine university of Indonesia.
Metode: Quantitative research to evaluate the learning model through the development of a questionnaire that identifies students perceptions of the cultural competence of service. Pre-and post-interventionmethods is used.
Result: Some 464 students were respondents in the study by completing a full sheet of pre-and post-intervention, 167 of whom were from year I, 153 of year 3 and 144 of year 5. The results of statistical analysis showed a significant increase in the perception (p
