Evaluasi Pendidikan dan Keterampilan Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia dalam Tata Laksana Ibu Hamil dan Bersalin serta Bayi Baru Lahir (Evaluation of Education and Skill of Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia Undergraduate Students in the Management of Pregnant and Delivering Mothers and Neonates )
Abstract
Introduction: The aim of this study was to assess the process and outcome of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FMUI)'s education in the management of pregnant and deliv¬ering mother; as well as neonates.
Methods: Cross sectional study that asses process and education outcome in Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia's students who went through and finished women's health module in August to October 2011. Variables assesed are antenatal care competence, delivery and neonate number, case number; duration of supervision, confidence and satisfaction level.
Results: There are 66 students who enrolled in the research. The median amount of antenatal care and delivery cases for every students are 31.5 and 4 cases. The mean amount of supervision length in a week is 4.4 hours. From the competence assessment, it was found that the students who are notified as competent in antenatal care, delivery and neonate management are 97%, 97% and 74.2%. There are no significant correlation acquired from the analysis between the amount of case, supervision length, and competence achieved. The amount of students who declare that they are confident in assisting delivery and managing neonate are 97% and 81.8%.
Conclusions: The education process have been conducted correctly and clinical competence has been achieved by most students.
