Prediktor Pola Caregiving Keluarga Terhadap Lanjut Usia (Predictor of Caregiving Pattern of Family Toward Elderly)

ABSTRACT
The highest numbers in elderly population affects to several aspects of life such as social, economy and health status. Those conditions need support from particularly family members (care giver) whom take care of elderly people and fulfill the physial and pshychosocial needs. Caregiving pattern are fulfill need of elderly in maintaining daily activity, pshychosocial and financial needs. The design of this study was a descriptive analysis with cross sectional method and used Multiple Regression Linear test. The participants were 165 family members that whom elderly lived in and selected by purposive sampling method. The results of this study were: there is significant relation between education with caregiving pattern (p value=0.002), there is significant relation between health status with caregiving pattern (p value=0.007), there is significant relation between coping mechanism with caregiving pattern (p value=0.000) and there is significant relation between social support with caregiving pattern 69 value=0.000). The determinant factor of caregiving pattern was gender. The recommendation of this study was the description of caregiving pattern to elderly could become an input for family empowering program for caring the elderly member in family.
