Energy Intake, Macro-Nutrients (Carbohydrate,- Protein, Fat), Fiber, Water And Nutritional Status Of The Elderly In Nursing Homes Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 3 Ciracas, East Jakarta
ABSTRACT
The elderly nutrition in vulnerable groups although the group is not in the process of growth and development. This is because in the elderly occurs that causes the degeneration of this age group experiencing nutritional disorders. Old age is the age at risk for most ofthe degenerative diseases during the life cycle. Elderly people often have problems in terms of eating, such as decreased appetite. Yet despite its activity decreases with age, the elderly still need a complete nutrient intake, such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. Elderly also still need energy to run the body physiological functions. Diversity of health and nutrition issues faced by the elderly, it is only fitting that this group gets more attention. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the intake of enegy, macro-nutrients, fiber and water and nutritional status in nursing home elderly ELDERLY Budi Mulia 3 Ciracas, East Jakarta. Collection tool in this study is a questionnaire. Data collected included gender, age of respondent, respondent education level, respondents' weight, height respondents, and nutrient intake ofrespondents. For data retrieval nutrient intake of respondents used food weighing method. From the results of statistical tests obtained no significant relationship between the nutritional status of energy intake (p = 0.373), nutritional status with carbohydrate intake (p = 0.116), nutritional status with fat intake (p = 0.374), the nutritional status with fiber intake (p = 0.501), the nutritional status of the water intake (p = 0.113), whereas the nutritional status with protein intake there is a meaningful relationship with (p = 0.003). Based on the results of the study suggested for the Elderly ELDERLY Budi Mulia 3 should be paying special attention to elderly uneaten food intake and nutritional status ofthe elderly.
