Carbopol Influence In Gel Formulation Using Active Ingredients of Papaya Latex (Carica Papaya. L)
Abstract
Plants, Has Long Been Known To Be One Of The Most Important Resource In Treatment Efforts And The Efforts To Maintain Public Health. Papain Is The Dried Powder Derived From The Sap Of The Leaves, Stems, Roots And Fruits Of Papaya (Carica Papaya L), Which Can Treat Skin Keratoderm. In This Study Gelformulations With Active Ingredient Papain Concentration Of 5%, Karbopol 940 As A Gelling Agent With Different Concentrations, The Formula A 1%, B 1.5%, C,2% And D 2.5%. Organoleptis Gels Tested, Homogeneity, Ph And Viscosity, Papain Gel Test Results Showed On Day 21, The Formula A Change Consistency And Become Liquid, Not Homogeneous And The Viscosity Decreased. Formula B On Day 21 Decrease Viscosity, Ph In All The Formulas Was Little Changed And Still In The Normal Skin Ph Range 4.5 To 6.5. From The Results Of Gel Formulations Can Be Deduced Formulas C And D Are The Most Stable Gel Physically.
