Effectiveness of Sodium Zeolite Filter Media for Treating Hard Water in Sampung Pond Ok Village, Sub District Sampung, District Ponorogo

Abstract
High Hardness Levels When Consumed As Drinking Water Can Impair Health And Cause Precipitation or Scaling on Home Appliances, Such as Boilers And Other Equipment Related To Cooking And Water Storage. Besides, Water Hardness Can Cause Foaming Soap Harder So The Consumption of soap So Labih Much. The Water Hardness When In Consumption In The Long Term Will Lead To Blockage of The Blood Vessels of The Heart And Kidney Damage. Many Ways To Do The Process Of Hard Water And One of Them Is The Ion Exchange System (Ion Exchange) With The Use Of Activated Natural Zeolite Material. Activation Method That Can Be Done Physically By Heating In ohemical Methods Using Naoh Solution, Hcl, H2so4 or Nh3. In This Research The Ingredients Used Are Natural Zeolite Activated With Naoh Solution. The Resulting Sodium Zeolite Filter Media Made With A Thickness of 70 Cm Filter: The Flow of Water Through The Filter Media Is 1 Liter Per Minute And The Next Levels of Water Hardness Was Observed Every 30 Minutes For 3 Hours. The Result Is Sodium Zeolite Filter Media Efficiency to Treatment With 30- Minute Intervals For 180 Minutes Ranging From 25% To 31.20%. Highest Efficiency After Long Time Use Of Filter Media Up To 30 Minutes (31.18%)
