The Efective Dose of Biji Kelor (Moringa Oleifera) to Decreaseiron Content In Soil Water
Abstract
Water is one of main necessity of human lffe, used to continue life and consumed by people. To get clean water which fulfill the requierement based on Permenkes RI Nomor 4l6/Per/IX/1990 is really hard, because of polution. One of water polution is eaccesive number of iron cencentration. To eliminate iron polution need technology, one of them is coagulation using natural coagulant 'Biji Kelor'.
This experimental research is examine the efective dose of 'Biji Kelor' (Moringa oleifera) to decrease iron in soil water The research was done at Laboratorium of Department Environmental Health with water sample from Puri Husada Blok D 10/12 RT 02/10 Gunung Sindur Housing, Bogor From the first, second, third, fourth and fifth treatment there is an Iron concentration decreation from soil water sample as big as 1,02 mg/1 (66,45%), 0,80 mg/I (73, 68%), 0,44 mg/1 (85, 53%), and 0,10 mg/I (96,7%) in rate. From the fourth Iron concentration variation 'Biji Kelor' (Moringan oleafera), the most effective to decrease Iron concentration is 1.300 mg/1 (97,79%).
The research concluded that 'Biji Kelor' (Moringa oleifera) coagulant was an adsorbent in adsorbing Iron particles and other substance in water to form big flocks which were easy to precipitate. Biji kelor (Moringa oleifera) is really safe and have no negative impact to health.
